Today, IBM WebSphere sMash V1.1.1 is generally available for electronic download from IBM Passport Advantage. IBM Reliable Transport Extension for WebSphere sMash V1.1.1 is also available. This release is the culmination of five months of Sprint iterations. This release adds OS support for AIX, pSeries Linux, and zSeries Linux. On top of this we made sMash available to several additional deployment infrastructures such as Amazon EC2, IBM Smart Marketplace cube, IBM WebSphere Message Broker and even CICS. These exciting new ways to deploy and run sMash applications were requested by community members like you, both internal and external members, here on projectzero.org. It is also exciting that sMash is a core part of new IBM solutions like WebSphere CloudBurst. We continue to enhance our PHP support with substantial improvements to runtime performance as well as support for more PHP applications, PDT 2.0 and Assemble Flow.
We have also continued to deliver new significant community-supported content through Project Zero. Two examples are the enhanced iWidget editor in App Builder and IBM Application Creator for Business Users. You can review the full set of features in the June Stakeholder Review. Finally, we’ve updated our license to simplify the difference between development and deployment of sMash applications. This helps our partners and users better understand our terms.
It’s been a journey over the past two years developing this product with your help in this community. We’d like to thank everyone for their input and for using WebSphere sMash. If you’d like to see what we’re cooking up next start with the latest code stream code-named ‘Monza.’ We hope you will help make our next release even better with valuable feedback.

Hi Ryan,
I downloaded smash 1.1.1.0 from XtremeLeverage and have installed it. Where has the appbuilder gone ? IN version to v 1.1.0.0 there was an appbuilder.bat in the install dir, but now I can’t find it. Do I have to download it from somewhere ?
Thanks, Daniel

Daniel,
The installed version of sMash from XL is the same as the licensed version customers download from IBM.com. Tha App Builder is not part of the released product and is only available for evaluation from projectzero.org. I recommend downloading the Developer’s Edition with App Builder from the community site here.
