World Community Grid announces new Facebook application built on WebSphere sMash

The World Community Grid enables individuals to donate the idle or spare power of their computers to groundbreaking environmental and medical research. World Community Grid have just announced a new Facebook application which is built on WebSphere sMash and is available to over 400,000 World Community Grid users.
The World Community Grid Facebook application was developed in PHP by the World Community Grid development team and uses the Facebook PHP client API. Facebook users can link this application with their World Community Grid account so that they can share information about their own contribution to the research projects. News about the research projects can be automatically posted to a user’s wall, and the user’s current stats (including the badges they have earned) are available in their profile.
