Announcing a new IBM Innovation Center event at the San Mateo California site, Introduction to IBM software on Amazon Web Services featuring WebSphere sMash & DB2

Cloud computing provides a way to develop applications in a virtual environment, where computing capacity, bandwidth, storage, security and reliability are not issues—you do not need to install the software on your own system. In a virtual computing environment, you can develop, deploy, and manage applications, paying only for the time and capacity you use, while scaling up or down to accommodate changing needs or business requirements.
IBM worked with Amazon Web Services to give you access to IBM software products in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) virtual environment. This workshop will show you how to do the one time setup tasks associated with running IBM Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) in the Amazon EC2 environment. It will feature two of the most used AMIs containing DB2 and WebSphere sMash to set up a demonstration for banking software.

Register for the Event to be held, free of charge, on February 26th 2010. Event starts at 9AM EST and ends at 3PM. Follow directions to the IBM Innovation Center site with the handy Google map found on the San Mateo blog.
