User service
User service is a library that provides access to user registries.
You can use one of the following supported user service types, depending on your requirements and environment:
- File-based user service
- Text-file registry is suitable as a development-time registry.
- LDAP user service
- An LDAP registry is recommended for production, where enhanced reliability and security are important.
- Extending user service
- For situations where neither LDAP nor File-based user registries provide the required functionality for your application, IBM® WebSphere® sMash provides an extension point for registering your own user service.
