PHP support
IBM® WebSphere® sMash enables developers to build applications in the PHP programming language.
PHP support allows developers who are familiar with PHP to use WebSphere sMash's convention based programming model to:
- Use PHP to build rich applications using RESTful design principles.
- Mix Java and PHP code and libraries to build applications which benefit from the best from both worlds.
- Allow teams of programmers to use Groovy and PHP according to their personal preference and skills to build modular applications using Groovy and PHP.
- Write PHP view and event handlers that interact with sMash's event based programming model.
Support for the PHP language is provided by a Java™-based runtime package from IBM. The runtime supports almost all the language features of PHP 5.2 and a significant set of the functions provided by PHP extensions.
